CALL-TO-ACTION ON
GOVERNOR’S PROPOSED BUDGET CUTS TO SCHOOLS
We have all heard about the governor’s proposed budget cuts to public education. This would have a huge negative impact on our schools. We, concerned parents, are implementing a letter writing campaign in order for our voices to be heard in Sacramento. A brown envelope with copies of these letters and return envelopes went home with all MCMS students last week. We have also posted this letter online (see link below). This is a template for you. Please feel free to adapt it any way you would like. We also encourage our children to be heard and they may want to sign or write their own letters.
Please participate! We want to have a significant number of letters to make an impact in Sacramento! We would like to collect all of these letters at school by March 17th. Please send the letters folded in stamped, addressed envelopes back to school with your children where they can be turned in at the student window. With letters in hand, we plan to hold a press conference to draw attention to this serious matter. We will then mail the letters to our state representatives.
We have provided envelopes. Please add stamps and address them to the following:
